Best Nappies For The Environment 2024
According to Ethical Consumer, all reusable nappies are the best nappies for the environment. But we recognise that deciding on the best nappy option for you isn't just about environmental impact; it also involves considering what works best for your lifestyle, budget, and comfort level.
As you'll have seen from our previous blogpost comparing disposable vs eco nappies vs reusable nappies, in our opinion reusable nappies also score best overall when compared on cost, resources used, comfort, convenience and waste produced.
- Disposable Nappies: 35/70
- Eco Disposables: 37/70
- Reusable Nappies: 47/70
However with that being said, we appreciate that not everyone wants to commit to reusable nappies full time. So we've collated this list of the best nappies for the environment 2024 and split it into best eco disposable nappies, plus best reusable nappies.
It's worth noting that some nappies which scored very highly in the ethical consumer ratings actually scored worst in the Which magazine nappy reviews and therefore we haven't included them below. In fact, both Mama Bamboo and Eco by Naty were rated as 'Don't Buy's by Which due to their poor absorbency and fit. Here's our list of the best nappies for the environment 2024:

"Fantastic nappies. They feel so soft and look very cute as well as working way better than the big brand ones and supermarket ones. We've never had any leaks with our kit and kin nappies even overnight. so much better fir the environment too and babies skin. We also use the magic salve which works wonders on nappy rash as well as other skin issues like spots around the mouth from teething. Smells lovely too! Their customer service is incredible too. "These are great overnight nappies, I’ve tried a lot of different brands of nappies but these are our favourite for overnight. You can pop big pads/boosters in them and it still doesn’t make it tight on their legs tummy, as the elasticated legs and waistband is soft and stretchy. I’ve had my first set of these for well over a year now and they are still going great, they are still comfy on my toddler - we have the size 3 and she is about 33lbs, but still lots of room for growing." "We have nailed it the perfect nappy and wrap combo for nighttime. Using this little lamb nappy has made nighttime usage a doddle. Contains all wees for at least 12 hours. Takes the stress out of nighttime as no changing of clothes or bedclothes in the night. I would recommend anyone starting their cloth journey who is hesitating about making the transition to go cloth at night to try this nappy and wrap combo. You won’t regret it I’m sure."
