Why Should I Switch To Reusable Period Products?

Did you know that each of us could use up to 16,000 menstrual products, including disposable pads, pantyliners and tampons in our lifetime?

Reusable sanitary products are an incredible cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to disposable period products. Using washable sanitary protection has lots of benefits including:

  • ensuring you're comfortable on your period
  • lowering the risk of toxic shock syndrome
  • lowering pH altering chemicals in your life
  • giving you a more convenient lifestyle
  • saving you money every month
  • reducing waste from landfill
  • ensuring our sewage system is clear

Should I Choose Reusable Pants or Reusable Pads?

This choice is completely up to you! Here at The Nappy Gurus we offer both both pants and menstrual pads, so you can decide for yourself.

Some people even choose to use them alongside each other, especially for long days out or heavy flow days when you need a bit of extra reassurance.

Reusable Pads are very similar to the disposable version, they attach to your normal underwear with poppers instead of an adhesive strip, come in multiple flow options and are changed when needed.

Period pants are worn as they and you bleed into them, these are becoming an increasingly popular period choice especially for young adults and teens. They come in many styles from high waisted 'Bridget Jones' style right through to period thongs!
